ReplyDeleteI'm really enjoying the items you are posting on your blog and appreciate the photos and the URL links. I share your appreciation for the "specialness" in the "ordinary" which seems to run through the selections you have made for your blog.
In connection with this class, it would be interesting to see you bring some of your own reflection to the choices you present here -- i.e., what role, if any, do you see this art and these artists playing in creating or sustaining community? What IS the role of an "outsider artist"? And "outside" of what?
P.S. -- It might be useful to try to develop an illustrated and annotated map of interesting "outsider art sites" around the city. There are several that I know of -- and I bet you know them too!
